Main South Road (SH6), Paroa, is closed near the intersection with Clough Road, after a two-vehicle crash late this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 11.20am.
One person is reportedly in critical condition.
The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene, and diversions are in place.
Motorists should avoid the area.
