Volunteer at Canterbury Regional Parks this winter

• When: Sunday, 9 August 2026, from 9:30am
• Where: Waimakariri River Regional Park – Harrs Road on the upstream side of the Eyre River Ford. Best access if it’s been wet is from Diversion Rd.
• What’s provided: Kai/BBQ lunch, drinking water, portaloo and hand sanitiser, bags, gloves.

All ages are welcome, and children are the responsibility of their parents or guardians. We recommend sturdy shoes or hiking boots.

Join the ranger team and Forest & Bird North Canterbury as we extend the native plantings at The Sanctuary in Belfast. The event will wrap up by 12.30pm following the BBQ lunch!

Celebrate World Rivers Day by joining the ranger team for a community planting event at Waikuku Beach. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend time outdoors, contribute to a local restoration project and help care for one of Canterbury’s special regional parks.
