Marlborough Police have arrested three people in an operation targeting organised crime and the supply of drugs.
The trio were arrested on Tuesday 29 July following the execution of two search warrants in Marlborough.
The Tasman District Organised Crime Unit launched Operation Radich earlier this year to target the procurement and sale of drugs in the area. Officers, supported by the Offender Prevention Team, executed the search warrants at addresses in Tuamarina and Blenheim.
A 53-year-old Tuamarina man has been charged in relation to the unlawful possession of a firearm and drug-related offending. He will appear in the Blenheim District Court on Tuesday 4 August.
Two Springlands residents, a 38-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, have both been charged in relation to the unlawful possession of two firearms and a large quantity of ammunition.
Both will appear in the Blenheim District Court on Monday 3 August.
The result is a positive step in reducing the harm drugs inflict on our communities, and Police will continue to target the individuals and groups driving that harm.
We also encourage people to report unlawful firearms, as they pose a serious risk to the safety of communities.
