Employment indicators provide an early indication of changes in the labour market.
Key facts
Changes in the seasonally adjusted filled jobs for the June 2026 month (compared with the May 2026 month) were:
- all industries – up 0.1 percent (2,728 jobs) to 2.35 million filled jobs
- primary industries – up 0.7 percent (730 jobs)
- goods-producing industries – flat (up 149 jobs)
- service industries – up 0.1 percent (1,648 jobs).
In June 2026, there were 2.35 million actual filled jobs, up 14,327 jobs (0.6 percent), compared with June 2025.
