One man has been charged after failing to make a getaway from an aggravated robbery.
Police responded to the dairy in Conifer Grove before 10.30pm on Tuesday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Robson, Counties Manukau CIB, says the sole offender entered the store on Challen Close.
“He allegedly presented a weapon at the shopkeeper that was working and made demands, before leaving the store. Fortunately, the worker was not physically injured as a result of the offending.”
Detective Senior Sergeant Robson says Police located the alleged offender in the nearby area.
The 20-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with aggravated robbery.
He will appear in the Papakura District Court today.
Tuesday night’s arrest follows four other arrests for two aggravated robberies on 12 July.
A 39-year-old man has been charged over an aggravated robbery at a Meadowlands bar.
Three teenagers, aged 16, 17 and 18, were charged late last week for an aggravated robbery at a Clendon Park fruit and vegetable store.
“These offenses have all been against local businesses and our investigators continue to work hard to hold those responsible to account,” Detective Senior Sergeant Robson says.
