The northbound lane of the Christchurch Northern Motorway, on Waimakariri Bridge, is blocked following a mud spill this afternoon.
Police were called to the spill around 3.40pm.
There are no injuries, however the lane is expected to remain closed for some time to allow for clean up.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect delays.
