Police have arrested and charged two men after a fire in Point Chevalier overnight.
Shortly before 1am emergency services were called to a property on Sutherland Road after reports a garage was on fire.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand extinguished the fire and confirmed the house was vacant.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Police units conducted area enquiries, assisted by camera operators, and located two people matching witness descriptions a short distance away.
Scene guards will remain at the property while enquiries are ongoing.
Two men, aged 26 and 50, will appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with arson.
