NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising drivers that night closures and detours on SH1C at Te Rapa will continue until mid-May, as resurfacing of the single-laned sections of the road is taking longer than expected to complete.

All the northbound resurfacing on the single-laned section of SH1C is expected to be completed next week.

From Sunday 28 April until mid-May the team will switch to the southbound lanes. When the southbound lanes are closed the detour remains the same; via Te Rapa Road and Wairere Drive for traffic wanting to rejoin SH1C at Mangaharakeke Drive. The road will be shut between 8pm and 6am when work is taking place.

There will be no work on the nights of Wednesday 24 April and Thursday 25 April for the Anzac Day holiday.

The project remains on track to be completed at the end of June.
