Work is now past the halfway point of constructing a new roundabout at the State Highway 6, Bells and St Leonards Road intersection in Renwick.
Stage 3 of the project is set to begin earlier than planned on Wednesday next week (3 April). Recent good weather has helped contractors get ahead of schedule.
Stage 1 of the project started on 16 January, followed by Stage 2, which began on 19 February. Stage 3 works will continue until early May.

Contractors will work on the north side of the roundabout to complete pavements, drainage, and road surfacing. By the end of stage 3, around 90 percent of the roundabout will be built.
While Stage 3 is underway, State Highway 6 will remain closed in one direction. People travelling from Nelson/Renwick to Blenheim direction must take a detour.
Bells Road intersection will be open.
St Leonards Road at the intersection of SH6 will remain closed. People living on St Leonards Road will need to take a detour.
People living on St Leonards Road who want to travel to Blenheim will need to go up Old Renwick Road and follow the detour to Colemans Road. If they travel towards Renwick/Nelson, they must go via Jacksons Road.
NZTA/Waka Kotahi wants to thank residents and road users for their patience and cooperation while this project continues. We understand the work is affecting the community, but when finished, the new roundabout will make journeys through Renwick safer and easier.
