NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is advising motorists heading home today to avoid a stretch of State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway.

The road between Taradale and Meeanee Roads, was closed earlier today following a serious crash.

It’s unlikely to open prior to the Friday peak travel period as the investigation into the crash continues.

Road users are advised to plan their journey ahead and take an alternative route on local roads or on State Highway 51.

Please allow extra time for their journey.

Please keep up to date on the road closure with the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi Journey Planner and plan your trip accordingly.
