Drivers travelling between Picton and Blenheim this afternoon are warned to expect possible travel delays.
Contractors are installing rumble strip – also known as audio tactile profiled (ATP) road markings – on State Highway 1, Koromiko, as part of safety improvement and road resurfacing works.
As part of this work, stop/go traffic control and speed restrictions are in place at the work site.
There is potential for afternoon peak traffic between Picton and Blenheim to be affected. Drivers should factor this into their travel plans, particularly those with Cook Strait ferry connections.
Every effort is being made to keep disruption to a minimum, and traffic management will be removed as soon as the rumble strip work has been completed.
