As flood waters have receded, the Northland State Highway network is now open at all locations.

This includes SH1 Brynderwyn Hills and SH1 Dome Valley in both directions after yesterday’s closure due to heavy rainfall causing significant surface flooding.

Given the ongoing wet weather and the impact this has had on the wider Northland roading network, we ask all drivers to please drive to the conditions, keep left and look out for any remaining surface flooding.

Please also be kind to our people who will be on the roads monitoring and keeping them clear.

Waka Kotahi is urging motorists to check the latest weather conditions with MetService and consult the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner before heading out for the most up to date information.
