We hope you and your loved ones are safe following the recent extreme weather events. If you have been affected and are in need of support, here are a range of options that could help get you through this stressful time.
Support available for AUT students:
You missed Orientation
Don’t fret. You can prep using our digital resources created for students who couldn’t make it or for you to refer to through the semester. It has information on everything you need to get started – logging into systems, digital tools, and all student support available.
You’ll be arriving late to AUT accommodation
If you have been unable to check into your accommodation at one of AUT’s student accommodation sites, reach out to the team at residential.services@aut.ac.nz
You may be missing class due to the weather impact
If you’ll be unable to get to class on campus next week, reach out to your faculty to let them know. You can find your faculty contacts on your Canvas faculty page.
You need a device, data or financial support
If you need a loan laptop or a data package to access study material, we may be able to help you out through our Student Financial Assistance service. We may also be able to assist with other immediate financial support you may need. Talk to a student advisor about financial assistance available.
Your wellbeing is important
It’s important for you to know that health and wellbeing support is available for you at AUT:
Civil Defence support is available
Auckland Emergency Management is coordinating assistance to communities affected by the extreme weather events.
