Auckland Council’s Ngā Hapori Momoho / Thriving Communities Grants open today, 28 November 2022, with $295,000 available to support community-led projects that help build inclusive and vibrant communities.
Formerly known as the Regional Community Development Grants programme, the programme has been renamed to align with the Ngā Hapori Momoho / Thriving Communities Strategy approved by Auckland Council earlier this year.
Mirla Edmundson, Auckland Council’s General Manager of Connected Communities, says this fund is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to ensure all our communities can thrive now and into the future.
“As Tāmaki Makaurau continues to grow and evolve, we need to keep investing in our communities so every Aucklander can access the resources and services they need to thrive.
“In particular, the council sees value in Auckland-wide programmes that can help whānau through tough financial times, improve health and wellbeing coming out of the pandemic, and ensure our increasingly diverse communities are strong and cohesive.
“Ultimately we want to see a stronger, more connected Tāmaki Makaurau where every Aucklander feels like they belong.”
Grants of up to $60,000 are available for projects that help us support thriving communities, with applications open until 12 February 2023.
