Waka Kotahi is advising residents and motorists that resealing works on a section of SH2 in Bayview have started today (21 November), with work expected to take five days to complete, dependent on favourable weather conditions.

The resealing work will be carried out each day between 9am and 3pm. Traffic will be managed as follows:

  • Traffic controllers will help direct traffic into businesses and properties during working hours.
  • Where the width of the road allows, two lanes of traffic will be utilised with a 30km/h temporary speed limit.
  • One lane stop/go traffic management and single lane closures may be necessary at times to ensure the safety of roadworkers.

Road users are advised to be prepared for traffic delays as there is no practical detour route available and to take care when travelling through the work site.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience while we undertake this important work.
