The information and communication technology supply survey collects sales data from New Zealand businesses that are involved in producing or supplying information and communication technology (ICT) software and services.
Key facts
In 2021 compared with 2019:
- sales of ICT software and services were worth $10.9 billion, up 16 percent
- sales of hosting and IT infrastructure provisioning services rose 37 percent to $2.3 billion
- sales of published software rose 21 percent to $3.2 billion
- sales of IT services increased 14 percent to $7.6 billion
- exports of IT software and services were 18 percent of the total sales of ICT software and services, down from 19 percent.
