Linked employer-employee data annual data corrections

In April 2022 Stats NZ found an error in the concordance table, which meant a postcode had been incorrectly allocated to Westland, when it was actually part of Selwyn. This flowed through to the respective regions, meaning that the West Coast and Canterbury regions were also impacted.

The error affected the following releases:

  • Monthly employment indicator release – since the series began in May 2019. This was revised in the March 2022 release (28 April 2022).
  • Employment stocks and flows series (experimental) – since the series began in May 2019. This was revised in the March 2022 release (28 April 2022).
  • Business employment data release – majority of impact increasing from 2015 onwards. This was revised in the March 2022 quarter release (10 June 2022).
  • Linked-employer-employee-data (LEED) annual release – majority of impact increasing from 2015 onwards.

On 8 July 2022 we corrected and republished all the impacted LEED annual tables on NZ.Stat. The corrected tables were as follows:
