Update from the Ministry of Health

COVID-19 deaths

Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 11 people with COVID-19. 

They take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,472 and the 7-day rolling average of reported deaths is 13.  

Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; 2 were from the Auckland region, 1 was from Waikato, 1 was from MidCentral, 2 were from Taranaki, 1 was from the Hutt Valley, 3 were from Canterbury, and 1 was from South Canterbury.

2 people were in their 60s, 2 were in their 70s, 3 were in their 80s and 4 were over 90. Of these people, 5 were male and 6 were female.

This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them. Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.
