Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises Saddle Road between Ashhurst and Woodville will be closed during non-peak times for five days from Monday 27 June.
Stop/Go traffic management will operate from 7am to 9am daily, followed by full road closures between 9am and 2.30pm, reverting back to Stop/Go restrictions from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. This allows for peak commuter traffic to continue to access the Saddle up till 9am, then again after 2.30pm.
The full closure during non-peak times will allow contractors to complete pavement repairs, sign, edge marker post, sight rail and guard rail maintenance, as well as vegetation mowing and line-marking. It provides a safer environment for workers and allows the range of work being undertaken to be completed in one go, with fewer delays to road users.
The detour route is the Pahiatua Track.
During the closures, access will be available to residents of Saddle Road, emergency services, and to local work sites.
In the event of bad weather, work will begin on the next fine day. Visit the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website for up-to-date information on the work.
