Contractors will be undertaking routine inspections at a number of bridges on both State Highway 2 and State Highway 35 near Ōpōtiki next week.

The full schedule of inspections across eight bridges is listed below.

Due to the Raukokore River Bridge being a one-lane bridge,  it will be closed to through traffic between 9am and 4pm this coming Monday 14 February, while the inspection takes place, to ensure the safety of both the inspection crew and road users.  Vehicles will be allowed across the bridge every half hour, beginning from 9.30am, during the inspection.  Road users are asked to plan ahead and expect delays.

All other bridges are wide enough to allow a single lane of traffic past the bridge inspection unit, with Stop/Go traffic management and a temporary speed limit of 30km/h in place.
