Read today’s update on COVID-19 cases from the Ministry of Health.

Vaccinations

Vaccines administered to date (percentage of eligible people):

  • 3,995,827 first doses (95%)
  • 3,910,251 second doses (93%)
  • 36,582 third primary doses
  • 974,784 booster doses

Māori (percentage of eligible people):

  • 509,044 first doses (89%)
  • 480,298 second doses (84%)

Pacific Peoples (percentage of eligible people): 

  • 275,641 first doses (96%)
  • 266,967 second doses (93%)

Hospitalisations

8 cases in hospital:

  • 5 in North Shore
  • 2 in Auckland
  • 1 in Middlemore

Cases

24 new community cases:

  • 2 in Northland
  • 16 in Auckland
  • 1 in Waikato
  • 5 in Lakes

47 new cases identified at the border.
