Contractors will be undertaking overnight resurfacing on State Highway 1 at the Wairakei roundabout next week.
Starting Sunday (23 January), works will take place over five nights between 6pm and 6am to replace the road surface of the roundabout and the section between the roundabout and the Wairakei River bridge.
Contractors will then return after Waitangi weekend to complete the surface on the northern side, between Kauri Drive and the roundabout, from 8–11 February.
During work hours there will be four-way Stop/Go traffic management and a 30km/h temporary speed limit in place.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience while we undertake this important work to improve the state highway network.
