Considered one of the top 25 international psychologists in the world, Professor Haidt has agreed to speak at the summit which will feature some of the world’s most influential CEOs.
The New York University Professor, who has been named one of the ‘top global thinkers’ by Foreign Policy magazine and Prospect magazine, is the author behind The Happiness Hypothesis: Finding Modern Truth in Ancient Wisdom.
Other bestselling books written by Professor Haidt on psychology and politics include The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion, and The Coddling of the American Mind: How Good Intentions and Bad Ideas are Setting Up a Generation for Failure.
Jonathan Haidt has been confirmed as one of the keynote speakers at the APEC CEO Summit 2021.
Professor Haidt’s research examines the foundations of morality.
“By understanding more about our moral psychology and its biases we can design better institutions (including companies, universities and democracy itself), and learn to be more civil and open minded toward those who are not on our team,” he says.
Professor Haidt will speak about using what we know about moral psychology and behavioural science to create organisations and businesses that function as ethical systems that are more sustainable.
He will also discuss the need for businesses to demonstrate how they operate, treat employees and customers, and whether they are engaged ethically with their global supply chains.
Professor Haidt joins Dr David Suzuki, Amber Mac and Tony Fernandes as keynote speakers at the summit. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
