Come and explore a key element of our history with this intensive introduction to the topic of Te Tiriti o Waitangi – the Treaty of Waitangi.

This full-day programme covers:

  • Why the Treaty of Waitangi came about
  • What terms the signatories agreed to
  • The history of colonisation in this country and its impacts
  • The relevance of the Treaty in Aotearoa today
  • How we can connect to the Treaty relationship as people of different backgrounds and cultures in Aotearoa

No prior knowledge necessary, all welcome

The programme is interactive and participatory.

Not covered in this programme: tikanga Māori / Māori culture.
