Following the Treasury’s Request for Proposal to execute the one-in-five year statutory review of the Government Superannuation Fund Authority (GSFA), the Minister of Finance has approved the appointment of Willis Towers Watson to conduct the review.
The review will examine how efficiently and effectively the GSFA is performing its functions as outlined in section 19B of the Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956 and a final report is expected in mid-2021.
The Treasury conducted a thorough evaluation process which considered a number of high-quality proposals.
The Terms of Reference for the review address the requirements set out in the Act, including reviewing the appropriateness of, and compliance with, the policies, standards and procedures of the GSFA, as well as an evaluation of the investment performance of the Fund overall. The review will also include an evaluation of the GSFA’s ethical investment framework, including consideration of its approach to climate change.
