KiwiRail and the Supporting Growth Alliance – Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi – are seeking community feedback on the development of three new train stations for southern Auckland.
The proposed locations are:
- Drury Central – on the existing line south of Waihoehoe Rd, between Flanagan and Great South Rds
- Drury West – on the existing line, 450m south of the SH22/Karaka Rd-Jesmond Rd intersection
- Paerata – on the existing line, adjacent to the planned eastern extent of the Paerata Rise development.
The sites maximise connections with future town centres, housing, and public transport routes, and when developed, will have park and ride and pick-up and drop-off sites, bus interchanges and bicycle parking.
Your feedback will help develop the designs before the process of protecting the land begins.
The stations are part of more than $2billion of transport improvements in southern Auckland being delivered as part of the Government’s New Zealand Upgrade Programme.
KiwiRail is already working on extending the electrified network to Pukekohe, to allow electric trains to travel to Papakura and beyond by 2024.
