We are delighted to present the debut of the MAC Graduate Artist Awards Exhibition.

In October 2019, a call of entries was put forth to recent Fine Arts graduates based in Aotearoa and are not represented by a gallery.

Four awards were offered to create a new body of work to be initially exhibited at Mairangi Arts Centre in April 2020.

This schedule was interrupted by the Covid lockdown and postponed until this year.

The purpose of the awards is to provide emerging, trained artists with the opportunity to make and present work to the public and contribute to wider contemporary art discourse in Tamaki Makaurau and Aotearoa.

It is also an opportunity for the local community to engage with contemporary art practices through artists’ led workshops, thus contributing to the development of arts and cultural engagement in Tamaki Makaurau.

The four awarded artists participating in the MAC Graduate Artist Awards Exhibition are: Georgia Arnold, Quishile Charan, Charlotte Maguire and Vanessa Crofskey.

Artists led workshops will be lead in conjunction with this exhibition and posted on Mairangi Arts Centre’s Facebook event page.

This exhibition is proudly supported by the Hibiscus & Bays Local Board.
