Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is giving Bay of Plenty motorists an early heads up on some key pieces of work scheduled for the early in the new year.
Some of these works had been scheduled to be completed ahead of the festive holiday break, but have needed to be deferred due to weather or other unforeseeable circumstances.
- State Highway 2, between Athenree Gorge and Te Puna: Waka Kotahi will recommence resurfacing works at various locations on SH2 between the Athenree Gorge and Te Puna from the week beginning Monday 11 January 2021. The resurfacing sites will be a mixture of day and night works.
- SH2 Waiōeka Gorge, State Highway 30 Rotorua and State Highway 34 Kawerau: Resealing works will get underway on SH2 in the Waiōeka Gorge at various sites between Wairata Road and Matawai and on SH34 at various sites on Tamarangi Drive/Kawerau Road during the week beginning 5 January 2021. Resealing works on SH30 between Tikitere and Rotomā in Rotorua will get underway during the week beginning 11 January 2021. All work will be undertaken during the day.
