Anyone interested in vocational training in 2021 is invited to come to a NorthTec Open Day on Friday, 11 September.
The event will run from 11.30am to 2.30pm and will take place at the Interactive Learning Centre on the Raumanga campus in Whangārei, accessed via Gate 1 on Raumanga Valley Road.
Academic staff will be available to discuss the various study options, ranging from Level 2 certificates to diplomas and degrees.
There will also be support staff on hand to help with enquiries related to finances and assistance while learning, and campus tours will be available.
Currently, nearly 40 NorthTec programmes are being offered fees-free, and the fees-free portfolio for 2021 will be updated as decisions are made at Government level. Increasing the number of fees-free vocational training and education programmes forms part of the strategy to assist with New Zealand’s economic recovery post-Covid.
NorthTec offers more than 100 study programmes, including seven degrees, which can be studied in the Tai Tokerau Northland region. There is also a range of fully online and blended programmes which can be studied from home.
