New Zealand Treasury – Advisory: Pre-Election Economic and Fiscal Update briefing postponed

The media and analysts restricted briefing on the Pre-Election Economic and Fiscal Update (PREFU) 2020 will be postponed because of the change in the general election date.

Arrangements for a rescheduled restricted briefing on the PREFU are to be determined and will be communicated to media and analysts once finalised.

Under the Public Finance Act, the PREFU must be published between 20 and 30 working days before the general election.

With an election date of 17 October, PREFU is required to be published between 7 and 21 September.
