Motueka and Tasman Bay drivers who use the Motueka River Bridge, SH60, between Motueka and Riwaka, after 9 pm at night will face a detour route from this Sunday night, 14 June.
“From Sunday to Wednesday, 14–17 June after 9 pm at night to 5 am the following morning, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency road crews will be doing annual safety maintenance on the bridge joints,” says Waka Kotahi Top of the South System Manager Andrew James.
Drivers will be detoured to the Motueka Valley highway, Alexander Bluff Road, Motueka River West Bank Road, Old Mill Road, Swamp Road and Umukuri Road (reverse for southbound traffic).
“If there is an emergency, those services will be able to get over the bridge,” says Mr James.
Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience and taking care on the detour route while this annual safety work is underway.
