In a statement made today, Secretary to the Treasury Caralee McLiesh outlined how Budget 2020 documents released today have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The swiftly evolving health-related and economic impact of COVID-19 has meant that the Government has continually needed to make decisions to respond to this crisis. As a result, the Budget documents and forecasts released today do not capture all Government decisions with fiscal implications that have been made up to Budget Day.
Individual decisions announced today that have not been captured in the Treasury’s forecasts will be reflected in its next forecast round. This will be the 2020 Pre-Election Economic and Fiscal Update, due to be published between 10 August and 21 August 2020.
