A 54-year-old Napier man has been arrested overnight following the fire at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church last Sunday, 25 October.
He will appear at Napier District Court today charged with one count of arson.
“Police are highly appreciative for the assistance from our partner agencies including Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ), Napier City Council, and the local business community, which enabled this timely result,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Simmons, Hawkes Bay Police.
