Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash that has blocked State Highway 57 at Levin.
The collision, involving a truck and car, was reported about 6.50am and happened between Tararua Road and Meadowvale Road. Initial indications are one person has critical injuries.
The section of highway is blocked and motorists are advised to use alternative routes and expect delays.
The Serious Crash Unit will be carrying out a scene examination and the road is expected to be closed for several hours.
