Police are seeking information as part of an investigation into an unprovoked assault on a teenage boy in Henderson.
Footage has been obtained of three people Police would like to speak to in the investigation.
An assault occurred around 2.09pm on 9 September 2026, at a bus stop on Swanson Road, near the intersection with Mihini Road.
Senior Constable Paul Stanko, Waitematā West Police, says the victim had been waiting for a bus at the time.
“The 16-year-old student observed three adult males sitting inside the bus shelter drinking beer.
“No words had been exchanged and there had been no interaction between either group when, without warning, one male approached the victim and punched him.
“The punch was so forceful it caused him to stumble into the roadway, causing bruising and facial injuries.”
Senior Constable Stanko says all three males left the bus shelter and walked along Mihini Road.
“Members of the public quickly came to the boy’s aid, and helped him up from the road, which we acknowledge them doing the right thing.”
Police have since obtained footage in enquiries to date.
“We particularly would like to speak with the man in the white t-shirt, and I welcome anyone with information to come forward to Police now,” Senior Constable Stanko says.
“Anyone in the group can also contact Police to deal with this matter at any time.”
Any witnesses in the area who have not yet spoken to Police are asked to make contact as well.
“You may have witnessed the incident, or have CCTV, dashcam or further video that could assist us, so we thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.”
