The Waipawa Bridge on State Highway 2 in Waipawa is currently blocked following a crash this afternoon.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash on the bridge, involving a campervan and a car, around 4.20pm.
Initial indicators are that there are injuries.
The bridge is closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for some time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible, and expect significant delays.
