Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash that has blocked Pilcher Road in Mangateretere this afternoon.
Police were alerted to the crash, between Giles Lane and Lawn Road, about 4.15pm.
Initial indications suggest one person has critical injuries, while another has serious injuries.
Diversions are in place and the Serious Crash Unit will be carrying out a scene examination.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
