State Highway 1B / Marshmeadow Road is closed following a serious crash this evening east of Hamilton.
About 5.35pm, Police were called to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian near Vaile Road.
Initial indications suggest there are serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
The road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
