Police have arrested and charged a woman last week following an investigation into the supply of methamphetamine into Marlborough.
On Tuesday 4 August Police from the Tasman Organised Crime Unit, with assistance of staff from the Christchurch Organised Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at a property in Sydenham, Christchurch.
As a result, a 42-year-old woman was arrested in relation to supplying methamphetamine into the Marlborough area. Police also seized stolen property that was located during the search.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Brent, Tasman District Organised Unit, says this arrest is a great result for the community.
“Methamphetamine causes a huge amount of social harm and has no place in our community.
“I am really pleased that we were able to disrupt some of the supply into the Marlborough area and hold this alleged offender to account.”
The woman has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Christchurch District Court on 26 August.
“Police continue to work hard to disrupt the supply of methamphetamine and other illicit substances.” Detective Sergeant Brent says.
“I would like to thank all those involved in the investigation – this was the result of great teamwork across districts, and I believe the Christchurch community will benefit from this arrest just as much as the Marlborough community.”
