The four recruits of New Zealand Police’s first Accelerated Policing Course will be celebrated this Thursday 30 July as they graduate alongside recruit Wing 398.
The former Australian officers previously worked for Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia Police services. They will be deployed to Eastern, Central and Wellington District.
The Accelerated Policing Couse was set up to offer experienced officers from overseas fit-for-purpose training by recognising transferrable skills and applying them to the New Zealand policing environment. By focusing on key areas training on the course takes 10 weeks instead of 20.
