Attribute to Detective Sergeant Luke Vaughan:
Two people have been arrested and charged after a man was seriously injured in Waltham, Christchurch, yesterday.
Police found the injured man after being called to an address on Opawa Road about 11.50am. He was transported by ambulance to hospital.
Extensive enquiries began immediately, and officers established the man had been assaulted at an address on Merrington Crescent, Aranui, about 20 minutes prior.
A 29-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested at the address and are both due to appear in Christchurch District Court today, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police are now seeking any possible witnesses who were in the Merrington Crescent area between 11.05am and 11.30am on Thursday 16 July.
