Police have made two arrests within 24 hours after an aggravated robbery at an Auckland bar.

An investigation is ongoing after the aggravated robbery occurred at the sports bar on Mount Albert Road, at around 10pm on 5 July.

Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Darvill, Auckland City West Area Investigations Manager, says two teenage males, aged 15 and 17, have been jointly charged with aggravated robbery.

“Police stopped a vehicle of interest in Te Atatū Peninsula yesterday afternoon, and took the pair into custody,” he says.

“Our detectives executed a search warrant at a nearby address last night and have seized two vehicles of interest in our investigation.”

The pair arrested will be appearing in the Auckland Youth Court today.

“Our investigation team are determined to identify the remaining offenders involved in Sunday night’s offending,” Detective Senior Sergeant Darvill says.

“Police won’t tolerate this violent offending in our community, and we are supporting the victims after what was a traumatising incident for all involved.”

Police continue to ask anyone with information to assist the investigation to contact us online or call 105 using the reference number 260705/0339.
