State Highway 39/Kakaramea Road, south of Whatawhata is closed following a crash.
The crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian between Koromatua Road and Higgison Road was reported at around 6:40am.
Initial indications are that there are serious injuries.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
Diversions are in place.
