Please find attached a media release regarding a “tradie breakfast” event in New Plymouth on July 26. It’s the first of a series aimed at helping the construction and demolition industry become more sustainable.
The Sustainability On-Site breakfasts will be lead by waste reduction experts 3R Group, in partnership with local councils, and hosted at local Mitre 10 stores.
The first event will be held at Mitre 10 MEGA New Plymouth and will feature local building industry members and the New Plymouth District Council speaking about how the industry can reduce waste on building sites and the benefits of doing so.
Waste generated by the construction and demolition sector makes up around half of waste sent to landfill in New Zealand. There is also increasing legislative and client demand, meaning sustainable practices are more than a ‘nice to do’.
