A small stretch of State Highway 3 at Tangahoe, in Taranaki will be closed for two hours on Monday 6 May for urgent surfacing repairs.
The section of road, between Hāwera and Mokoia, will be closed from 10am to midday on Monday. Stop / go traffic management will also be in place on Monday, between 7am and 10am and again from midday to 6pm.
During the work, crews will move between sections of the road, and the 2 hour closure is needed as one of the sections is too narrow to safely carry out work while traffic is moving through.
Monday’s work involves hot chipping to improve the texture of the road surface for the safety of road users.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises motorists to expect delays of between 5 and 10 minutes during the stop/go traffic management.
During the closure, access to property within the site may be limited, but residents can speak with one of our onsite crew for assistance getting to/from home.
Please plan ahead and avoid travelling in this area of the network during this time. Please also be patient, follow temporary signage and speed restrictions at all times.
This work is weather dependent and if it is postponed, it’ll be rescheduled to Tuesday 7 May.
