Night time closures are planned for Mangaturanga Bridge on State Highway 2, just north of Napier at Raupunga, to enable crews to repair the bridge deck.

During the four night closure, a portion of the existing bridge deck will be deconstructed, and a new one cast onsite from concrete.

The bridge remains structurally sound to use and this work will strengthen the resilience of the bridge.

The four nights of closures will begin on Monday 26 February and is scheduled to be complete on Friday 1 March at 5am. The work will be carried out each night between 9pm and 5am.

Outside of these closure times, the bridge will be open but under stop/go and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises road users to expect delays during these times.

This work is weather dependent so please keep up to date with the NZTA Journey Planner.

Elsewhere on SH2, between Wairoa and Napier, crews remain at various sites working on the recovery of those sites. Please plan your trip; expect delays or lower speeds and be respectful of crews working.
