NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is encouraging drivers to plan ahead for upcoming road works on State Highway 30, south of Kōpaki, starting this Monday (22 January).

Works on this section of highway are being done in two parts.

Widening works

A shoulder area is being created to allow vehicles to safely pass the worksite during the under-slip repairs, and to complete drainage.

This will start on Monday 22 January and will be completed by Sunday 28 January, weather depending.

During this time there will be stop/go traffic management in place between 7am and 5pm.

There is no suitable detour available.

The road will re-open in both directions at 5pm, with a shoulder closure in place.

Under-slip repair works

Under-slip repair works will then start from 7 February, and will be completed by 29 February, weather depending.

During this time there will be stop/go traffic management in place 24 hours a day.

To allow machinery to move to the site, there may also be stop/stop traffic management between 7am and 5pm, with delays up to 30 minutes.

There is no suitable detour available.

The NZTA Journey Planner will have the latest information for this site, and all other roadworks and road hazards that may affect your journey.
