The Marina Industries Association (MIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Habermann to the role of Membership & Programs Manager. Working across all areas of the business, the role supports the MIA’s expanding membership and member programs.
A passionate sailor, Luke’s marina career journey spans over 20 years and includes extensive operational marina management experience both in Australia and overseas. He brings a strong focus on customer service, safety and compliance and coupled with his management of both wet and dry boat storage operations, it gives him a unique insight into the needs of members and how the MIA can continue to evolve to support them.
MIA CEO, Suzanne Davies commented, “Luke’s operational experience will not only give him a deep insight into our members’ support needs, but he will be a great contributor to the development of our training programs”.
Aside marinas, Luke has skippered and maintained charter and tour vessels. Most recently Luke was a Boat Harbour Controller with Maritime Safety Queensland. “I am very excited to join the MIA team and will have plenty of operational knowledge that will equip me to support members. Having worked in and around marinas for many years, I have seen the importance of many of the MIA’s programs and how they assist marina businesses to increase their efficiency, remain compliant and grow stronger. I look forward to working with all members to help them get the most out of their membership and the support that MIA provides.”
Andrew Chapman, President of the MIA commented, “With a conference coming up in less than six months, this will be an exciting year for the MIA. We are a progressive organisation that is continually seeking ways to expand our support to members and their businesses in meaningful ways. Luke will spend much of his time out and about with members, learning about their businesses and supporting them. On behalf of all members, I welcome Luke to the MIA team”.
