The September Climate Summary Highlights:
– Temperatures were above or well above average in every region (nationwide +1.3°C above the average)
– 29.6°C in Wairoa was the highest on record for September in the North Island
– High pressure brought benign weather for many during the first half of the month, but several fronts caused more unsettled weather in the second half
– El Niño was officially declared.
