Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect delays as contractors will be clearing debris which came down during the recent slip on State Highway 35, near the Motu River Bridge East of Ōpōtiki, from 8.30am to 5.00pm on Thursday 24 August.
Traffic will be stopped in both directions for up to 30 minutes at a time to allow for the clearing work to take place, and motorists are advised to expect delays. Waka Kotahi are aware of how important this connection is for residents and businesses in the area, and opening the road to two lanes as soon as possible is a priority.
